Green Tea contains antioxidants called catechins, which scavenge for free radicals that can damage DNA and contribute to blood clots and hardening of artery walls. All teas are derived from the same plant, Camellia sinensis, but the difference between them is their way of processing.
Green tea, unlike black tea, is not fermented, so the active constituents remain unaltered. This means that green tea’s unique catechins are more concentrated and therefore are more potent in beneficial antioxidants.
