Is it right for me?
“MoodCalmer™ is designed to help people with mild to moderate symptoms of depression or low mood. It can also support people with long-term health problems experiencing low mood, as well as carers of individuals with chronic illness.
How do I know it works?
It is based on the N.I.C.E. recommendations (CG90 and CG91), for the use of computerised CBT, programmes to help with depression. The programme uses proven, evidence-based CBT, to challenge negative thinking and behavioural activation.
How long does it take?
MoodCalmer™ was created to meet the demand for a shorter programme, aimed at individuals who found they lacked motivation or energy for a longer and more intense course of treatment. There are 4 online 40 minute sessions, which can be taken once a week. The material is available on-line, 24/7, you work through it at your own pace, in the privacy of your own home or wherever you are connected to the internet.
Do I need to consult with a medical professional?
Not necessarily. The programme is designed to for standalone use, with self-monitoring. However, it can also be used to augment other forms of treatment with your GP, nurse or mental health practitioner.
